The Vegas Wedding With Chuck Woolery and Kim Barnes

You may remember how pre-Kevin Federline, Britney Spears and her friend Jason Allen Alexander got hitched at a wedding chapel on the Strip. Of course, their was annulled about fifty hours later.

Some Weddings Last Longer than 50 Hours

That doesn't necessarily mean Las Vegas weddings are doomed to fail. Take, for example, another recent Vegas celebrity wedding. Game show host, Chuck Woolery, exchanged vows with his fourth wife, Kim Barnes, on July 16, 2006 at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Chuck, a born again Christian originally from Kentucky, has become one of the most famous game show hosts in history after hosting shows such as Love Connection, Greed, Scrabble, and currently Lingo on the Game Show Network.

Although the details of their wedding are slim because it was a very just for their family and friends, probably held in the smaller of Bellagio's two chapels, it does bring up a possibility that some couples might want to consider: a Las Vegas wedding.

Not Just Sleazy
There are a lot of misconceptions about Las Vegas weddings. Some people think they are only for couples who are eloping or that they always seem sort of tawdry and sleazy, but that's not the case. Sure, you can choose to have a sleazy-looking wedding, but Las Vegas has so many options that you can literally fulfill almost any wedding fantasy there.

Actually, one reason couples flock to Las Vegas for their weddings is that it's easy there. To get a , you only have to pay $55 and show proof that you are both over the age of 18. You don't have to take any blood tests or go through a long waiting period. Even couples who are not from the United States can tie the knot in Las Vegas! In fact, about 122,000 couples get married in Las Vegas every year. That's more marriages than in any other city in the world!

$$$ Ideas
If you need some idea of what's available in Las Vegas, let's look at some examples. For example, you can have your wedding ceremony held at the top of the Stratosphere hotel 108 floors above Las Vegas. Plus, for an extra $500 you can have an Elvis impersonator. Packages vary in price from around $150 to around $2500 depending on what you want included. High-end packages even include a personal butler.

Or if you want something less modern, you could choose the Excalibur Hotel's Canterbury Chapel. With their Medieval weddings, you can even dress up in the costumes of knights, queens, kings, and princesses.

You can also skip the casino hotels and go to other chapels, such as Andrea's, which includes a number of ceremony options. You can get married at an outdoor gazebo, in a helicopter flying over the city or to the Grand Canyon, or with an Elvis theme. You really can't find any city with more wedding options than Las Vegas.

If it's good enough for a game show host's fourth wedding, then Las Vegas might be worth considering for your special day, too.
